Hybrid Therapist / Psychologist – Columbia River Gorge Region
Location: Hybrid – Office-Based (White Salmon, WA) + Outdoor Sessions + Remote Telehealth
Type: 1099 Contractor | 5-Tiered Scalable Pay| Full Admin Support

The Role: Advanced Clinical Care in the Gorge

We are seeking a Licensed Clinician, Associate-level Clinician, or Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) to join our team in the Columbia River Gorge. This position is for the provider who wants to move beyond the traditional office and integrate clinical processing with the active landscape of the PNW.

You have the opportunity to be trained and to utilize Bilateral Kinetic Processing (BKP). This framework layers rhythmic movement—walking, hiking, jogging, or paddling—with bilateral stimulation and cognitive tools (CBT, ACT, CPT) to provide deep nervous system integration for your clients while outdoors, gaining the benefits of nature.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Focus

Our practice is committed to building a cohort that reflects the rich diversity of the Gorge. We are specifically looking for candidates who bring the following:

-
Culturally Responsive Representation: We are prioritizing the recruitment of providers who bring lived experience and a deep understanding of the diverse populations we serve in the Gorge—including our Latinx, Black, and Japanese communities.
-
Bilingual Proficiency: Professional fluency in Spanish and English is highly valued to bridge critical gaps in care for our local community members.
-

KSA Pay Differential: To honor the specialized expertise these skills bring to our practice, candidates who meet the Bilingual or Culturally Responsive Representative KSA criteria receive an automatic 5% increase across our entire compensation scale.

The Practice Advantage: Focus on Healing, Not Paperwork

-
White Salmon Office: A physical "home base" for in-person sessions, gear storage, and clinical collaboration.
-
Comprehensive Admin Support: Our team handles all billing, insurance credentialing, and intake. You are free to focus entirely on your clinical work and research.
-
Flexible Income Scaling: Our 5-Tiered Compensation System is calculated quarterly, allowing you to scale your caseload (from 5 to 25+ sessions) based on your lifestyle and goals.
-
Clinical Supervision & Training: We provide full training in BKP and Ecotherapy at no cost. Associates will receive the specialized supervision and mentorship necessary to count these innovative hours toward full licensure.
-
Research & Growth: Participate in our 2026 study on movement-based healing with an intentional path toward a W2 position.

Qualifications & Safety Requirements

-
Licensure: Active license (Full or Associate) in Washington and/or Oregon (LCSW/CSWA, LMHC/LMHCA, LMFT/LMFTA, or Psychologist).
-
Physical Readiness: Ability to facilitate "active" sessions (walking, hiking, or paddling) in various PNW weather conditions.
-
Wilderness Safety: Current WFA/WFR certification (or willingness to obtain one prior to contract start).

How to Apply

We are looking for a clinician who is ready to pursue a more active, representative way of practicing therapy.
To Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief response to: "How does your identity or lived experience inform your approach to providing care for the diverse communities of the Columbia River Gorge?" to info@groveinstitute.org.

Hybrid Therapist / Psychologist – Bilateral Kinetic Processing & Research Track

Location: Hybrid – Remote (WA/OR) + Outdoor Sessions (Regional PNW)
Type: 1099 Contractor | 5-Tiered Scalable Pay ($35 - $75 for insurance clients)
At Grove Institute, Kallie has been designing a "Movement as Medicine" model and we are looking for new therapists to join the team. We know nature is good for the brain. We know movement is good for the brain. We know bilateral stimulation is good for the brain and we know that therapy is good for the brain. So was born Bilateral Kinetic Processing.
Bilateral Kinetic Processing is a layered clinical framework designed for deep nervous system integration. We provide the logic and physiological regulation needed for healing by combining:
-
The Backbone: High-fidelity Bilateral Stimulation (BLS), the core of EMDR, to facilitate neurological reprocessing by incorporating bilateral movements such as walking or hiking.
-
The Kinetic Engine: Active movement including walking, hiking, jogging, or paddling during the session. The rhythmic nature of these activities provides the physical "pulse" for processing.
-
The Environment: Nature-Based settings that provide a grounding, sensory-rich container, show to lower distress and create calm.
-
The Clinical Layer: Evidence-based tools including CBT, ACT, MI, and CPT to provide cognitive structure and long-term skill building.
By layering these elements, we help clients improve mood and reduce distress while supporting their behavioral health needs and outcomes. Our preliminary quality improvement studies have had amazing results and we are excited to continue these with you!
The Role: Clinical Autonomy Meets Active Engagement

We are seeking Licensed Clinicians (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) and Psychologists (PhD/PsyD) who want to be more than "office-bound."
-
Scalable Income: Our 5-Tiered Compensation System is calculated quarterly. Whether you want a few sessions a week or a full-time caseload, our pay scales to support your life and output.
-
Hybrid Flexibility: Seamlessly transition between high-tech Telehealth sessions from your home office and Active Outdoor sessions in the PNW near where you are based.
-
Be a Researcher: You don't need to be a data scientist. We provide the training to deliver these protocols and track outcomes for our study on the continued efficacy of Bilateral Kinetic Processing.
-
Paid Training: We provide comprehensive training in BKP at no cost to you.
Key Responsibilities
-
Active Facilitation: Lead therapeutic sessions while hiking, jogging, or paddling (as clinically appropriate for the client and for you and your skill set).
-
Integrated Processing: Weave together BLS and movement with cognitive frameworks (CBT/ACT/MI/CPT).
-
Safety & Ethics: Maintain clinical and physical safety in varied PNW environments.
-
Data Integrity: Capture qualitative and quantitative markers for our internal research database.
Qualifications & Safety Requirements
-
Licensure: Active, unrestricted license in Oregon and/or Washington (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist PhD/PsyD).
-
Physical Readiness: Ability to facilitate sessions while hiking, jogging, or paddling in various weather conditions and conduct telehealth sessions.
-
Wilderness Safety: Must hold a current Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification, or be willing to obtain one by contract start.
-
Clinical Curiosity: A desire to expand what is behavioral health healing in our community.
Why Join Us?
-
The "Un-Clinic" Culture: We value nature, movement, and the freedom to practice therapy in a way that feels human. We of course understand the limitations, legalities and realities of our world and we work collaboratively and transparently to support positive outcomes.
-
Full Admin Support: No billing, no insurance calls, our admin and billing team takes care of it.
-
Professional Growth: Gain a rare specialization in Bilateral Kinetic Processing and be part of the frontier of behavioral health medicine and treatment.
-
Research Credit: Opportunity for co-authorship or recognition in upcoming clinical publications.
-
Path to W2: Start as a 1099 with the option to move to W2 as the institute expands.
-
For bi-lingual and clinicians of color we support energy spent through lived experience and how important this is for our patients by providing an automatic 5% KSA pay bump.
